Clients who give back

01 Aug 2018

It’s humbling to have clients who give so much back to the local community, like Breast Wishes JOurney.

To date the initiative has raised more than $35,000 for the UQCCR Brisbane Breast Bank, so researchers can discover a cure for breast and ovarian cancer.

Breast Wishes JOurney is the brainchild of a friend of mine, Jo, who opted to have a preventative Prophylactic Bilateral Mastectomy after testing positive to the BRCA2 gene, which increased her chances of developing breast and ovarian cancer by 65 per cent (she was 32 years of age at the time).

In addition to raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research, the Ball is also a celebration of life and proof that dark and scary moments can be the launchpad for something remarkable.

Breast Wishes JOurney’s fundraising efforts will go into overdrive later this month (Sunday, 12 August) at Newstead Brewery with the launch of the BRCA Brew.

By raising a glass, you’ll be raising awareness of breast and ovarian cancer.

Brickhouse Gym is another client who actively supports their local community.

On Saturday, 11 August, Jarrett, Beenie, Rob and the team are holding their inaugural Novelty Boxing Fundraiser to power wishes for sick kids.

The event is supporting Make-A-Wish Australia, which grant life-changing wishes to children and teenagers battling critical illnesses.

Wearing comically larger than life boxing gloves, the Novelty Boxing Fundraiser will give gym members, their friends and family the opportunity to ‘call-out’ and ‘fight’ Brickhouse Gym staff.

Entry is just $5. For $10 you can settle a score with one of the Brickhouse Gym trainers!
